Dr. Hinna Shah is a board certified diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, specializing in Child/Adolescent psychiatry and maintains a private practice in Freehold, New Jersey. Her clinical interests lie in working with individuals who struggle with depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, autism spectrum and ADHD.
Dr. Shah attended SUNY at Buffalo and received her bachelor's degree in Psychology, with a minor in Biochemical Pharmacology. However, it was during her time in Saint George's University School of Medicine when she became interested in how one's mental health can impact their physical and general well-being. She went on to pursue residency training in General Psychiatry at Trinitas Regional Medical Center, a Seton Hall University Program, where she succeeded in the art of balancing pharmacotherapy and therapy techniques. Dr. Shah sought specialization through a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, New York, where she also served as chief fellow in her final year.
After completing her training, Dr. Shah has provided services for adults and children in the outpatient, inpatient, and partial hospital settings. She enjoys providing continuity of care to her patients while using a comprehensive, full-systems approach to treatment.
In addition to being a prominent psychiatrist, Dr. Shah has presented at the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry national conference speaking on the topic of cultural and religious sensitivity in mental health treatment.
